A Thousand Faces is the Quarterly Journal
of Superhuman Fiction.

We are currently seeking stories that rise above the stereotypical BIFF-BAM-POW superhero stories that exist solely as a framework on which to hang a lengthy fight scene. We want strong, character driven pieces. The superhero element may be slight, but it must be present. If you're not sure what this means, picture your story minus the superhuman element. Does it still work as a story? If so, we probably won't want it.

A Thousand Faces has very few editorial restrictions, but bear in mind that gratuitous anything - sex, violence, profanity, etc. - will probably not interest us.

A Thousand Faces will consider stories submitted by any writer, regardless of experience or writing resume. Please submit your story as an RTF attachment to submissions@thousand-faces.com.

Short stories of any length will be considered, although stories of less than 5000 words will be given preference.

A Thousand Faces will consider exceptionally strong reprints, but prefers unpublished works.

By submitting their work to A Thousand Faces, the author certifies that the story is a wholly original work of fiction.

Currently, A Thousand Faces pays authors a percentage (between 5 and 8%, depending on the number of contributors in a given issue.) of the profits from print copies sold. Profit sharing for back issue sales will be distributed at the same percentage as the current issue, so payment will be rendered in perpetuity, through the life of A Thousand Faces. Payments will be distributed on a quarterly basis, preferably through PayPal.

A Thousand Faces buys First Electronic and First North American print rights. Only the current issue will be available online, but back issues will be available in perpetuity.
